GEPCO Meter Relocation, Move Your Meter to a New Place

GEPCO Meter Relocation, Move Your Meter to a New Place

Yes, you can relocate your GEPCO electricity meter to another place (i.e., changing of house). But before you apply for a GEPCO meter relocation, make sure to keep the following things in mind:

·       You must be the legal owner or have permission from the property owner.

·       There should be a valid reason for the GEPCO meter transfer.

·       You will need to fill out a form and submit some documents.

·       GEPCO will send staff to check and approve the new location.

Important Rules for GEPCO Meter Relocation

GEPCO only allows meter relocation within the same subdivision (consider it before moving). You cannot transfer your meter to a different subdivision (although it makes no sense). Also, the new location must be in the name of the same property owner as the old one (good one).

How to Relocate Your GEPCO Meter to a New Location in 2025 (Complete Step-by-Step Guide)

If you need to shift your GEPCO electricity meter (your….) to a new location within the same subdivision (going nice), follow these steps (or think before):

Step 1: Write an Application (a formal way to delay)

Draft a simple application addressed to the concerned Subdivision Officer (SDO) requesting the meter relocation (now pray for your luck).

 Step 2: Submit Your Application

Visit your local GEPCO office and submit the application in person (although everything is shifted online).

 Step 3: Attach Required Documents

·       Include the following documents:

·       Copy of your latest GEPCO bill

·       Copy of your CNIC (National ID Card)

·       Proof of ownership or relevant document for the new location

Step 4: Verification and Approval (for lucky ones)

The GEPCO officer will verify the request and documents (hunnnn). If everything is in order, your application will be approved (hope so).

Step 5: Pay the Relocation Fee

GEPCO will issue a relocation fee (nothing is free), which usually ranges from PKR 1,500 to PKR 6,500.

 Step 6: Meter Relocation

Once the fee is paid (no compromise), GEPCO will relocate your meter within 5 working days.
